THE MEN HAVE ARRIVED! - - Carmel United USSF U16 Men's Development Academy Team Advances to Nationals

Carmel, Indiana (June 30, 2008). The Carmel United U16 United States Soccer Federation (USSF) Men's Developmental Academy team won the Great Lakes Conference Championship (by winning 1 to 0) thereby earning a spot in the inaugural year of Development Academy Finals Week (the "national championship"). Ade Oluyedun scored the goal with the assist coming from Harrison Petts.

Demonstrating sustained brilliance, the team's record is 22 wins, 2 losses and 6 ties (72 points), which is tied with Real Colorado for the best record in the entire nation (among 64 teams). The team tied the U.S. Men's U17 National team and defeated the defending national champions and three #1 teams from other Conferences. The team has 2 U.S. National team members - Harrison Petts and Austin Oldham.

Team members are 18-Tyrone Martin, 10-AJ Corrado, 8-Lance Davis, 6-Jared Isenthal, 3-James Vollmer, 2-Taylor Anthony, 35-Jon Dawson, 23-Michael Wignot, 21-Harrison Petts, 20-Ade Oluyedun, 12-Matt Ingram, 16-Tyler White, 14-Mitchell Weaver, 9-Corey Fundenberger, 4-Charlie Dankert, 1-Andrew Moor, 19-Nick Olivero, 7-Max Odgaard, 11-Zakk Rankin, 19-David Sanning, 12-Adam Ward, and 7-Austin Oldham.

The 8 conference winners (out of the top 64 teams in the nation) advanced to the finals. The finals will be played in Carson, California, at The Home Depot Center, from July 12 to 19. The 8 Conference winners from each age group will be divided into two groups of four and participate in a round-robin format during the first six days of Finals Week. The teams will then crossover and play placement matches on Friday, July 18, and Saturday, July 19. All eight placement matches will be broadcast live during the two days, highlighted by the U-17/18 championship match that will be live on ESPN 2 on Friday, July 18, at 8 p.m. PT. The seven other matches, including the U-15/16 championship match, will be broadcast on ESPNU.

Congratulations to all of the players, Coach Costa, Joe Sochacki, 2007-08 Director of Coaching - Senior Boys, team manager Bobbie White, treasurer Stephanie Fundenburger, and all of the parents. This is the single largest accomplishment in the history of boys' youth soccer in the State of Indiana.

Carmel United U13 Girls Are Region II Champions

Carmel, Indiana (June 25, 2008). Carmel United offers its congratulations to our U13 Girls Academy team for winning the Region II Championship. The girls defeated KCFC (Kansas) 1 to 0 in the championship game. This is a special, rare and unique achievement. In winning the Regional Championship, the team becomes only the 8th team in the history of Indiana Youth Soccer (and the 7th Carmel United team) to win a United States Youth Soccer Regional Championship. The Girls are also the youngest team in the existence of Indiana Youth Soccer to win a Regional Championship, an achievement that can never be broken. Congratulations to all of the players, coach Ralph Richards, team manager Tim Kirkoff, and all of the parents. Carmel United has now won regional championships in consecutive years, which is another first for the state of Indiana.

Ex-Carmel United Star Stockpiles Awards Including NCAA Player of the Year and US Soccer Young Athlete of the Year

Lauren Cheney was named U.S. Soccer's Young Female Athlete of the Year for 2007. This is Lauren's fifth major national award. Lauren was also named the 2007 Soccer America College Women's Player of the Year, the Soccer Buzz 2007 Women's College Player of the Year, and the Top Drawer Soccer National Player of the Year for 2007. Lauren was the Soccer Buzz National Freshman of the Year in 2006.

FC Indiana and Carmel United Form Groundbreaking Alliance

LAFAYETTE (April 21, 2008) – USL W-League’s FC Indiana and Carmel United Soccer Club have officially joined forces in an attempt to take girls’ and women’s soccer in Indiana to the next level, the two organizations announced today.

Carmel United, the undisputed number one girls’ club in the State and the #9 ranked program in the US, will be FC Indiana’s Exclusive Girls’ Developmental Partner and Official Girls’ Youth Soccer Club in Indiana. The two clubs will share technical, educational, and commercial opportunities.

Carmel United Joins Red Bull Girls National League

Starting with the 2008-09 season, Carmel United has been selected to join the Red Bull Girls National League for U15, U16 and U17 Girls players. The League consists of the top 32 clubs in the United States, which have won 36 combined national championships. The League unites top teams from across the country in the spirit of true competition and elite player development.

River Road Fields Complex Nearing Completion
CUSC is pleased to announce that the River Roads Fields Complex is nearing completion. CUSC has worked with its partner, Carmel Dads' Club' (CDC), to bring the facility to fruition. CUSC extends it gratitude to CDC. The complex has room for 6 "full-sized" pitches. Opening of the complex will take place in 2008.

The professional coaches of Carmel United Soccer Club are pleased to announce the following camps this summer. All camps are open to all players, regardless of whether or not they play for Carmel United, except for the Pre-season Camp.

July 8-11: Midfielders and Defenders Boys Camp (U8 to U14)

July 28-August 1: Carmel United Pre-season Camp for Junior (U8 to U14) Teams

July 14-17: Girls Camp (for all ages) presented by FC Indiana, the #3 ranked Women's soccer team in the world. Training to be provided by FC Indiana coaches and professional world-class players. Manager Ron Boots, also of the U19 National Champion Women's Team, has been selected as the Indiana Youth Soccer Manager of the Year. Russell Gee, in his 10th year at Carmel United, was a finalist for Director of Coaching of the Year. Please join us in congratulating these outstanding contributors to Carmel United.

Private Lessons Available Year Around
Carmel United professional coaches are pleased to offer private training services as independent contractors during the off-season and during the season as well. Cost is $60 per session plus the cost of any rental facility, if necessary. Maximum of 4 players per private lesson so that attention can be provided to each player on an individual basis. Due to potential conflicts of interest, the coaches are not permitted to provide private lessons to players on their own teams. For private lessons, please contact one of the following coaches.
