Carmel United Boys and Girls Clubs Both Selected as "America's Best Youth Soccer Clubs" by Soccer America Magazine for 2nd Consecutive Year
Carmel, Indiana (September 30, 2009).  Soccer America magazine, the predominant ranking authority for youth soccer clubs in the United States, released its list of Top 40 youth boys and girls youth soccer clubs in the United States for 2010.  In Soccer America's seventh installment, Carmel United was one of a few clubs to have both its boys program and its girls program ranked.  Our boys were ranked #9 and our girls were ranked #20 in the United States.  In 2009, our girls were ranked #13 and our boys were ranked #18 in the country.  NationalSoccerRanking.com ranks our girls program as #5 in the nation.  Congratulations to our players on their incredible accomplishments!!!

NATIONAL CHAMPIONS IN AN ENCORE PERFORMANCE - Carmel United Claims Consecutive US Soccer Federation Crowns
2009 National Champions 
Carmel, Indiana (July 16, 2009).  Carmel United is the US Soccer Federation Men's Development Academy U17-18 National Champions.  This is the most prestigious title in youth soccer as it is awarded by the US Soccer Federation, the governing body of the US Mens' and Womens' National Teams.  Carmel United completed their seven match undefeated playoff run with a 1 - 0 victory against a strong and talented D.C. United team, which is part of the DC United MLS franchise.  Carmel United is the first and only club in the nation to send 2 teams to the Development Academy National Championship game and is the only club to win 2 Development Academy National Championships.  Congratulations to our magnificent players, Head Coach David Costa, Senior Boys Director of Coaching Joe Sochacki and Team Manager Bobbie White. 
As background information, Carmel United Soccer Club (a Nike Premier club) is Indiana's sole member of the US Soccer Federation Men's Development Academy (USSF Academy), which consists of 79 top clubs from around the nation.  THE REST IS HISTORY!!!

ORANGE BEACH, Alabama (November 3, 2009).  ". . . Florida defender Lauren Hyde . . . headline[s] the 2009 Southeastern Conference Women's Soccer Awards announced Tuesday. . . . Hyde was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Year after leading a Gator defense that rated as one of the stingiest in the league.  Florida shutout more than half (six of 11 games) of its league opponents and tied for the SEC lead by allowing just eight goals (0.73 goals per game) in conference play."  Lauren was also named All-SEC 1st Team in 2006, 2007 and 2009.  Congratulations, Lauren!

Lauren Cheney, Ex-Carmel United Star, Sparkles in "Gold"


Lauren Cheney (above center) was a member of the 2008 U.S. Women's National Team, which won the gold medal in Beijing, China.  The United States defeated Brazil 1-0 in the gold medal game and Lauren was involved in the game winning goal.  Shannon Boxx, who played 1 year for Carmel United, was also a member of the 18 member Olympic squad.  Additionally, Lauren was named U.S. Soccer's Young Female Athlete of the Year for 2007, which is Lauren's fifth major national award. Lauren was also named the 2007 Soccer America College Women's Player of the Year, the Soccer Buzz 2007 Women's College Player of the Year, and the Top Drawer Soccer National Player of the Year for 2007. Lauren was the Soccer Buzz National Freshman of the Year in 2006.
